Simple thing you can do is to check the server date using web services[ Just 
expose one method that returns the date]. Compare it with the one on local. This 
simple webservice can be hosted on some free servers or your company site. Much 
Simplest solution can be to have a html page on server that just displays the 
date and time.. get the date and time scraped from the html and use it for 
comparing. If you are going by second solution, try
