srinivas,   i checked the code with my input    look at the table structure i have     
 Field_1  Field_2    1  44         
   2  44,55      
   3  44,55,66   
   4  44,55,66,77
   when i run the code and if the   SET @searchFor = '44,55,66'  then it says    
Pattern does not exist and can be inserted   where as when i use     SET @searchFor = 
'44,55,66,77'  then it says (when the pattern is already present in the table)   
Pattern already exists. Cannot insert the given value - working in this case   when i  
  SET @searchFor = '44' then it says    Pattern does not exist and can be 
inserted(when the pattern is already present in the table)   when   SET @searchFor = 
'44,55' then it says    Pattern does not exist and can be inserted  (when the pattern 
is already present in the table)   
can you check this ......
