Hi Gags : - "Singleton pattern makes sure that you have only one instant running at
any poitn of time (Not the same instance at all time)". (Not the same instance at all
time).- Thts a good observation Gags. Session object is the same object that will be
available to the user througout the session(unless you take session object recycling
into consideration) Rosh : "your code is as good as mine, with plumbing removed. I
cannot think of anything right away thats wrong with it." - oops!!!! Never meant that
your code was wrong(fat chance!!!! :) ) But i think this is really an interesting
query. First-cut, im not able to get hold of related materialon the net, will search
more and get back if i find something useful... regards, sr p.s. Gags : As to
your observation "you have only one instant running at any poitn of time" - Dont agree
with you on this however. The patterns never says that there will be only one
instance. Wat the pattern basically says is that you can control the instantiation
process and thereby typically restrict to one instance. But the pattern allows you to
(and is really applicable in some circumstances) to have more number of instances(in a
controlled manner). Anyways i think this is not relevant to Rosh's Question. So if
you have a different view other than mine on this description of SIngleton in this
context, suggest we start a new thread on this and thrash it out with the group!!!!!!
