Hi Santy,    How u deleted .ldf file? some days back I faced some problem,     one of 
my friend machine having windows98 os, in that MSDE was running, he didn't take the 
backup of his database,     He installed windows 2000 professional edition(now dual 
os) and again installed the MSDE,     when we open the sql server enterprise 
manager(in windows 98 os), we seen all the user's database as in suspect status and we 
are not able to do anything. We tried to take the database back, it works and able to 
restore the backuped database. We recovered the exact database       u can use 
sp_add_data_file_recover_suspect_db     to recover the suspect status database
