Hi Gnanasekaran ,

It's quite simple,i suggest the best way is as follows:

1. u can import the file if its on HTTP/FTP server to your pc/server
2. Serialize the data in file into class e.g u might have a load() method
that will
load the data from file into class (properties),and a save() method which
will deseriallize the properties of class into database,u can use stored
procedure to get/save data from db.

I have done this way for my data importer module.it's fast and very
object'y too.

hope it helps...Cheers..

Regards

                Hi,
                When you say
that your application is a product and can be installed from the
CD, normally the users will try for the CD option
                only.
                There are lot
of overheads in downloading the application from the Internet.
It will depend on the availability, speed of download and

                the size of
                your application.

                The safe bet
will be to let the user install the application from the CD
only. This way he will have the base application framework
                installed.
                Then from
your product only, give the user an option to download
additional updates from your web site.

                This will be
helpful as the user will always have the minimum framework
installed and can go online anytime and get the latest
                updates.

                Just think on
this approach and let me know if anything is missing or failing
                your requirements . . .

                Regards,
                Vaibhav
