The only way available is to use the sp_executesql in the undocumented way. Look at 
the following syntax and change the same to your needs.   Declare @Count Int
Exec sp_executesql N'select @Count=Max(EmployeeID) from northwind..employees', 
N'@Count Int OUTPUT', @[EMAIL PROTECTED] OUTPUT
Select @Count   Or the other dirty documented workaround is to create a #table of a 
column of int and use the Insert into Exec syntax. A workaround surely documented. :)
