hmmm......... i have one more return retval; and return(retval); - nothing try this: 
if(x==y) and if((x==y))? innermost () will be evaluated first (remember POS and SOP? 
in datastructues) i'm not sure why () can be given for throw,return. thinkof it like 
this: throw (new MyObject.GetMyException()); looks cleaner than throw new 
MyObject.GetMyException();  functionally they do the samething
