----------------------------------------------------------- From: Girdhar77 Message 6 in Discussion For your kind of scenario , the best thing is to make use of HTML Meta tags. Since you already know the scope and context of the application. You can make a list of "Keywords" the user might serch for and define them in the meta tags. rishi -----Original Message----- From: scorpion_arjun [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 11:49 AM To: BDOTNET Subject: Search Page ----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET ----------------------------------------------------------- From: scorpion_arjun Message 1 in Discussion Hello reader ! It is'nt anything technical or anything but i just wanted to know how to implement a search page in my web-site.I am doing a poject for the agicultal dept. it is a govt. project. so we thought of impementing a seach facility in the web-pages. usually we have information elated to farmers in our web-site- like : crops, weather reports, seed stocks etc. There is some query like : SELECT * FROM <table-name> WHERE (<column-name>,'<search-text>') . So using this we can search the text entered by the user to search it in the database. Is there any other method to do so . Or is this the only method that can be used to implement a search page? Like take for example the folowing scenario : the user wants to search for crops in my web-site. Usually in the database i have stored the crop-names - like rice, wheat, paddy, etc. but i dont have the string "crops" stored in the database. SO if the user types in the search string as "Crops" and submits it. then the query i have mentioned above will return no ecordss since i dont have the string "crops" stored in my database. Is there any wya around this? ANybody got a better idea to implement a search page . plz do let me know. I now thank you for patiently readng this ! ANd thanks to all of u who have replied to this - IN ADVANCE !! ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/bdotnet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
