hi arjun,
the query which you saw in the asp.net unleaseh is using the full text
search service of sql server 2000.
for that to happen , you need to have a primary key defined in that
particular table and the datatype of the col. to be searched is either
text,ntext.

Freetext and freetext table are the keywords for sql.You will find them in
any sql server 2000 book.
As far as I remember , the full text service is installed by default,you
only need to generate a catalog for the same.
There is one wizard to do that.

this is all i know,rest you explore.

but is therre an query like : 
SELECT * FROM <table-name> where
 FREETEXT (<column-name>,'<search-text>')
I saw it in the ASP unleashed book.
I want some suggestions for implementing a search facility in my web-site
usibng vb-script and am not familiar with C# and javascript. and some code
snippets wud be helpful,
