To pass the dates as parameter u can use similiar to this string selectFormula; 
selectFormula = "{todate} > " + your_date; 
Report.DataDefinition.RecordSelectionFormula = SelectFormula;You need to apply one of 
the date functions of crystal reports for the conversion from .net type to its.For 
color coding also u can build the formula fields at the design time in crytal 
reportsIf (flag = 0){ 
        manipulate field color}
else{
   other color}
