----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: SriSamp Message 4 in Discussion You cannot. To use the earlier queries, you need to be connected to some server. If this server by itself is not known, one option is for you to use the SQLDMO library and provide the user the list of SQL Servers on the network and then ask the user to select one. Post this, you can substitute this in your connection string and then talk to that server. Here is an article that I wrote on the same: http://www32.brinkster.com/srisamp/sqlArticles/article_15.htm HTH, Srinivas Sampath MVP - SQL Server http://www32.brinkster.com/srisamp ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/BDotNet/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
