Any other solution, use of API calls or registry
keys. Is that possible.?

Using SQLDemo we can display list of servers on the
network. But I dont want to give option for user to select any server n
connect, has to automatically connect to local server. For local we
can mention local, it works fine , if ther is no Installed instances of Sql,
suppose if ther is any, we got find the Installed Instances (for eg NETSDK) ,
use the same to connect.

Thanks n Regards

You cannot. To use the earlier queries, you need to be
connected to some server. If this server by itself is not known,
one option is for you to use the SQLDMO library and provide
the user the list of SQL Servers on the network and then ask
the user to select one. Post this, you can substitute this in
your connection string and then talk to that server.
