hi ,
First of ur query is little bit strange , as it wants to list both parent and child
name under single column , as normally such things are easier if u have a separate
column for parent name and child name , anyway following may give u relevant result :
Select Parent.Parentid as Id, IsNull(Child.ChildName, Parent.ParentName) as Name From
Parent Left Inner Join Child On Parent.ParentId = Child.ChildId .
