Hi ,   I may not be able to suggest the exact code , but i think this logic 
will work for you :   1. Create a Temp Table with same schema as the original 
table . 2. Insert the distinct name into the temp table .       Insert into 
#temp(Name) Values(Select distinct name from Main Table) ;   3. Insert into 
#temp(Message) Values ( Select message from Maintable m inner join #temp t on 
m.name = t.name)    Now in third step it may give an error , so may need to do 
some collation . Actually i don't have Sql Server to try the same .   In case i 
come accross some other good solution i paste it .   regards ,   Mrinal
