Satheesh:     Web Service security can be applied at three levels:          1. 
Platform/transport-level (point-to-point) security           2. 
Application-level (custom) security           3. Message-level (end-to-end) 
security  Each approach has different strengths and weaknesses, and these are 
elaborated upon below. The choice of approach is largely dependent upon the 
characteristics of the architecture and platforms involved in the message
