Show for each DIV perform client side validation at tht time only. In the end do server side validation that you want to do.. I guess it will be a bit cumbersome task of getting focus back to the control in different divs. So what you can do is first do client side validation frame by frame as each frame calles the next frame. Where as about server side on press of submit do server side validation of DIV wise. Means first of all check for all elements in DIV1 and if any improper show DIV1 so again every element in DIV1 is fine then go ahead with 2 and like tht.. So i guess using this method u can use client side and server side validation properly. I bet it will be very boring at first and also a bit time consuming but for future apps you wont need to spend that much time because this add/Edit functionality will be there no matter what the app is..
