----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on BDOTNET
----------------------------------------------------------- From: PKSPMR Message 1 in Discussion Hi, I am working on ASP.NET 2.0 C# project. I am trying to customize membership provider. I want to customize validateuser() functions to validate username, login and agencynumber. When I try to do public override bool ValidateUser(string username, string agency, string password) it gives me error saying that no suitable method found to override. If 2 parameters means it is working. So, is it possible to have this kind when customizing membershipprovider. I appreciate your response. Whole of my Authentication technical architecture decisions depends on this kind of customizations. If it lets us do this, then we will go with provider model. Does anyone can help me in making decisions for technical architectural issues. For Authentication: The following are some of the rules to be implemented. validate: username, password, agencynumber and token value UserName: Has to be 10 characters etc Password: minumun 8, mix and match of letters and numbers, case sensitive, atleast 1 nonalphanumeric character, max 15 Lock Out: max 3 attempts Need to check password history like same password shouldn't be used in past 5 times and 90 expiry etc. We have both internal and external users. So, can't use active directory. Going to use SQL Server.
