Here's an exercise<http://elinux.org/EBC_Exercise_17_Using_ALSA_for_Audio_Processing> I made for my students that shows how to use ALSA on a Beagle xM to read audio from an input, process it, and send it out again. It is an exercise, so you'll have to put some pieces together to make it work. It should work on a Bone if you have some audio I/O.
