Hello again. I'm almost positive the issue is due to texinfo. With version 5.1 here there have been changes that are incompatible with older man page files, in particular the 'hsep' and 'veep' tokens.
I was able to resolve the issues I was having by switching from using the angstrom setup-scripts.git master branch to using the v2012.06 branch, can't recall the full name right now. Thank you for replying though, I did run into the dash issue under Ubuntu before switching to Fedora for other reasons.
