There was a thread on this topic a while back and one of the solutions was 
a hardware modification to the BBB (all since rev A6, I think).  The 
problem was the VDD_3V3A would not go low enough to shut U4 down.  Solution 
was to connect U4 pin 1 (EN) to VDD_3V3AUX.

Not sure if a better solution has been found.
