I'm not sure why you would feel compelled to do so. Cross toolchains
already exist.


   1.  Linaro - as in what Robert uses to compile uboot / the kernel.
   2.  Ubuntu at minimum has cross toolchains for armhf, that works fine
   out of the box.


And there are probably other cross toolchains out there that I have not
bothered to look into yet.
