So I added in my /etc/network/interfaces

iface usb0 inet static
    address 192.168.7.2
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    network 192.168.7.0
    nameservers 8.8.8.8
    gateway 192.168.7.1

This *takes care of ping 8.8.8.8*. after a reboot

But
still unable to ping www.google.com : *Temporary failure in name resolution*
