I've see and experience this in the druapl community where everyone is encouraged to help in the forums where they can. Answer questions if you can. The drupal community grew very big very fast because of this. If I did not answer Joytishmaan Ray's request, he could have moved on and got help from somewhere else and solved the problem with a different tool. Nobody else would've answers his question? But he came back, thanked me and he is now looking for books and material to learn perl. One more convert. Ultimately is that not the goal of this list? Ian
