I don't know about with a voice modem, but the folks over at Asterisk PBX,
www.asterisk.org had released an FXO (foreign exchange office) PCI card
called the X100P that supports 1 POTS (plain old telephone service) line. I
know most of their coding is done in C, but there is probably some way to
like perl to it. Check out at
store.yahoo.com/asteriskpbx/wildcardx100p.html. The retail is around $100. I
even think they may have MP3 codec in there somewhere. Not sure about that
though.

Subject: making phone calls using a perl module

Hi there,

I am looking for a perl module that can be used to
make phone calls using a voice modem so when the phone
is picked up the user can hear a recorded message
(mp3 file). Any idea where i can find that module.

 Thanks,

   Joe
