The questions are fine. The problem is that you have to make an attempt 
to answer them yourself before you can expect others to help you. As 
I've stated repeatedly, this list is not a place to do your homework for 
you.

I do not and will not want to give you the solution. No matter how many 
times you ask for it this way. 

Take the hint, try it yourself, then come back to the list showing 
exactly what code you tried, exactly what went wrong when you tried to 
run it, and what part isn't doing what you expect. 

Then & only then will I offer the (short) one line I have in mind.

If it helps, you should be looking on the web &/or in introductory Perl 
books for this information. There are lots of good tutorials out there, 
and once you've shown that you've read even one of them, come back here 
and we can start filling in the blanks.
