The automatic build script apparently failed to build PAR::Packer: http://ppm.activestate.com/BuildStatus/5.8-windows/windows-5.8/PAR- Packer-0.976.txt See http://ppm.activestate.com/BuildStatus/5.8.html if you wonder why isn't a CPAN module included in the ActiveState repository. Seems to me like ActiveState works with the (seemingly correct) assumption that if a module that fails to build automatically really is popular, someone who runs a (much smaller) repository of handbuilt modules will provide it. In case of PAR::Packer it's eg. in http://www.bribes.org/perl/ppm/ (Though at the moment it seems they are having some problems with the build process for HPUX PA-RISC 64. Everything seems to fail.)
