Hi,

This was due for long time. Of late, I have been mainly
focusing on improving the performance of "po_anubadok"
i.e. the machine translator for PO(T) files. It is available
from "http://www.imsc.res.in/~golam/anubadok/";.
You may also try Google for Anubadok.

Compared to my last status report on Anubadok, the current
version has modest improvements. It can now deal with
shortcuts gracefully. If you prefer to keep English letter
itself as shortcut then post-translation editing job will be
even less.

In the current version second level of formality (Ex. "tumi koro"
apart from "Aapni korun") has been (partially) implemented.
Currently, it is effective only while using "po_anubadok".
The is mainly aimed towards translating instructions
those are "from user to computer". So formality level will
go up and down automatically depending on the sentence
structure but do expect some wrong jumps :-)

Apart from above, "po_anubadok" can now also handle routine
(boring! ) tasks like header info, translators info modification.
Several new rules of Sondhi has been implemented and
several known bugs have been fixed. Its E2B dict
word counts now stands above 7k. This time a BIG thanks
to me (Progga hasn't been able to beat me this time :-)) )

A tagger (as a possible alternative of tree-tagger but
with a GPL compatible licence) is ready for quite
sometime. However, for no reason I am yet to put it up
:-(. Anubadok now supports both these taggers
out-of-the-box.

A crucial module that Anubadok continues to lack is what split
a compound sentences into simpler sentences at English level.
I need to study related computational linguistic stuffs for that.
I hope to do that after I submit my PhD thesis at the end of
April. Then it will replace the current one, based on
thumb-rules!! Also, I need to improve documentations.

So feel free to use and give feedback on "po_anubadok"!

Cheers,
Golam
