Hi Karen,
Don't be too discouraged by the comment you received, always better to be
told your dog is a nice mover:-) At 22.5" he is short in height but some
very good show dogs in the past have not always been tall. He may make
another inch by a year of age, but it's a "maybe", usually final height
(measured at the withers) is complete by ten to eleven months and the
growth plates close then he will slowly fill out. I too have a line that
mature late and right now have a lovely young male somewhat resembling a
Bernese/Saluki cross (without the hound topline:-) we affectionately call
him Stickdog but I anticipate him to be at his finest when he is four to
five years old.

Have a lot of fun with your boy. People oftentimes offer up their opinions
about one's dog, generally uninvited but the best thing to do is read the
standard and look around at what other dogs there are and make your own
comparisons.
