yes, if you can get them out right away it sure does help. My Zeke got "burred" a week before a show-I could not believe my eyes when he came crashing out of the woods. His ears were plastered to his head, tail stuck firmly to his side...I had never seen a dog so plastered with burrs. Thankfully I got a lot of them off right there-pulling off stems of them.
