My name is Bill Simmons... my fiancee Kari and I just moved to Los Angeles
and wanted some advice about breeders for Bernese mountain dogs in my area,
for two reasons: 1) we don't know that many people here, and 2) we want to
get the healthiest puppy possible.

A little bit about ourselves: We're in our early-30's, we've been together
for almost 5 years, and we've wanted a dog for years. Unfortunately, our old
apartment wouldn't allow us to have pets, and we couldn't leave because we
were getting a phenomenal deal on our rent right in the heart of Boston. It's
also difficult to have a dog in the city - it's not the best life for a dog
and we weren't home enough that it would have been fair to a dog. Also, my
Dad and stepmom lived in Wellesley, about 20 minutes from Boston, and they've
had 2 golden retrievers ever since I was a teenager (three in all, the first
one died five years ago) -- we would go over there at least once a week to
hang out with the dogs, or "The girls" as we called them (Abbie and Maggie).

Recently I got a new job in Cali that gives us much more flexibililty - we're
getting a house and my fiancee's only working part-time, so she'll be home
more than enough for a new puppy. We spent the last few weeks deciding what
puppy to pursue and settled on the BMD, mostly because we have both always
loved them, but also because they're athletic dogs and Kari wants to run with
him (we're getting a male dog if possible). She's even become a little
obsessed with the BMD's, surfing the net for any and all info and even making
our screen saver on our computer a BMD puppy. I can't emphasize this strongly
enough - there can't be two more people on the planet more psyched to get a
BMD than me and Kari. We've literally been waiting for this day for years. I
even bought an SUV this week so we could take the dog with us on trips and
not have him crammed into a backseat or something.

Anyway, I was hoping somebody could provide the name of a reputable breeder
in the LA area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading and
thanks in advance.
