I have always named our dogs before we get them, it's part of the anticipation to me.
Maddy-Deerpark Sheer Madness. When our friends (clearly not dog people) heard we were getting a puppy from Arizona and how much we were paying for her they thought we were mad. Miller (gone from our lives but missed daily) Deerpark Genuine Draft. Hey Maria, what's wrong with Miller, we thought we were so clever. This is also my husband's favorite beverage. Niska-Del Conti Nitesky Apparition. Niska came to us with her name at fifteen months. There was quite a show going on in the sky when she was born. Niska is a shorten version of her registered name. (I think her breeder and previous owner pronounce it differently than we do.) Moon-Kaibab's Bark at the Moon. I wanted a single syllable name. We also needed a name that started with a B and we are fans of Ozzy Osbourne so.... Unfortunately this is a case of be careful what you name your pup -he is very "verbal". Mary-Ann, his breeder, has renamed him in hopes of changing this trend - she calls him Kaibab's Bark Quietly at the Moon. Peggy, Maddy, Niska and Moon (remembering Miller)
