Hi Julene, If you have the large prong collar then there should be no problem with "ring around the collar" hair loss. The collar is only worn for walks and training and not general use. The reason the leash is fastened to the right side of the neck is because we heel with the dog on our left and if the collar is put into use there is a direct pull rather than a torque effect if fastened under the chin. Given that the collar is fitted snug then there should be no chafing to cause hairloss.
