I ask RIM about this and they told me these events are normal operation
of data packets between the handheld and carrier network (we use AT&T).
Going through SMS logs since we are running reports now there are
duplicates with one SMS message. The same message but the time stamp is
a second off and maybe 10 seconds off on some.

Is this normal behavior with the SMS logging on BES? Thanks
