BESadmin is setup in the administrator group on the local machine. I also
have the BESadmin in a exchange view only administrator group in AD.

I have noticed that the affected handsets all are on a specific mail server
that holds all our corporate users.

not receive

How is the BES account set up on local? Does it have the necessary Exchange
rights... Based on my archiving experience this type of issue can occur when
the rights in Exchange are modified. Look for errors in the BES log when
trying to poll for new messages. The BES server is working which is why the
users can send things to it but it is likely that the BES can not read the
Exchange accounts... So it is probably not a SendAs issue but an admin right
to read the messages...

Yeah, my grandmother was a young girl once? People make AD group membership
changes all the time - it is worth checking. :-(

That could be the problem then, go through and check the permissions on the
besadmin account and make sure the accounts are inherriting permissions. I had
a problem with one of my users not inherriting correctly, also as stated make
sure they are not a member of a protected account.

Did the accounts work previously?

I don?t see it being a SendAs permission being that they can Send fine just
can?t receive. Are the users able to send/receive fine with Outlook through
Exchange? Did you make any configuration changes to Exchange lately?

Anthony,

This sounds like SendAs permission for besadmin account is not set for those
users!

This happens for 2 reasons:

1. User is a member of AD protected group(s) - Doman Admins, Print
Admins, Print Operators, etc.

2. Inheritance of permissions is blocked on the store level or higher.

Check out RIM site - there are many KB?s on the issue.

Thanks,

Yury

I am having a couple of issues that are perplexing me, I have multiple
blackberries (BES 4.1.6/exchange 03) that can send email but not receive. I
tried deleting and resending the service books with no go. Wiped and activated
one would not download email but could send.

I have 10 users all on Exchange 07 servers and berries are running fine. ( All
running off the same BES server )

Any ideas?

What do you find in the BES logs for one of the users when he gets a new
mail?.. does the BES at least tries to forward a mail or does not
recognize a new mail at all?

If I would have this on Domino I would check if the server mailfile is
fine and new mail go into the inbox.. but I guess Exchange is a bit
different...

Best, Giudo
