I think I did. I thought this could be specified after the fact. Now I
see that the 2nd server needs to be specified as high availability
server during the install. I saw the option in BAS - make standby and
thought it could be done there as well. I am now uninstalling BES and
reinstalling. thanks.

When we installed our second 5.0 server, there was an option which
explicitly stated it was a standby server as part of a HA pair. I'm not
sure that helps you now, but I wonder if you've introduced a second
"dumb" server by mistake?

Subject: [Bes-admins] High Availability for BES 5.0

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 BES 5.0 servers that I configured in a test environment and I
am testing High Availability. Both are pointing to a remote SQL server
database. I specified the BES server config one as primary and the other
as secondary. However, when I stopped all the BES services on the
primary the secondary did not automatically kick in. Is there anything
else I need to do to make this automatic.

thanks
