You need to create an alias to the database server using the Microsoft SQL Server Configuration Manager
Before you begin: Verify that you installed the client components of the Microsoft® SQL Server® on the computer. 1. On the computer that you want to install a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server on, click Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager. 2. Expand SQL Native Client Configuration. 3. Right-click Aliases. Click New Alias. 4. In the Alias Name field, type the database server name. 5. In the Port No field, type the static port number. 6. In the Protocol drop-down list, click TCP/IP. 7. In the Server field, type the database server name. 8. Click OK. If this doesn't work, you will need to set the static port in SQL and remove the 0's in "dynamic port" field. Sent on the move, from my Javelin. _______________________________________________ Bes-Admins mailing list Bes-Admins@dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutages.com/mailman/listinfo/bes-admins http://www.dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutagenews.com RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Bes-admins ---------------------------------
