I think named pipes needs to be enabled for local access, TCP/IP for remote. Someone else will need to confirm, it's been a long time since my last SQL install and I'm not a SQL admin by any definition of the term.

And it looks like named pipes & tcp/ip are both disabled. Enable both? Maybe this needs to be enabled? Are you logged in with a local Admin account? SQL Services Running? If you install the SQL Management Console, Can you connect to the SQL server using it? Have you configured SQL security? Answers: I am logged in to the server using the BESAdmin user SQL is running, I can connect to the SQL server using the SQL Management Studio using both Windows Authentication (BESAdmin user) as well as SQL authentication (sa user) <-- I assume this means that SQL security is working, but I also know what happens when you assume.
