As others have attested to, this is an issue with GC servers going down, and can also cause address lookups to fail or sent mail to not send. A restart fixes it.
Only some users see the issue because (as I understand it, someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) when Messaging Agents on BES spawn they may connect to different GCs than the other agents. So when one GC goes down it only affects one Agent. What David was talking about is enabling "Global Catalog Referrals" which I tried enabling in my environment but it didn't help. I am now resorting to simply restarting both my BES servers every morning. The RIM KB article that describes GV referrals is http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/viewContent.do?externalId=KB16118&sliceId=1 Richard From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Moller, Doreen Sent: 30 April 2010 16:50 To: A list for BES Admin's to discuss issues, etc. Subject: [Bes-admins] Has anyone had this issue? Guys, I have a bunch of users who on their blackberry get "the message included an invalid address". We are running BES 4.1.6 on Exchange 2003, any ideas.?
