That's true but then his would be running in a different configuration than our
users, which might cause the testing to be invalid in some cases. I kind of
think he needs to have a normal device /plan just like our users to provide
proper support. I guess if we were really stingy, that would be the way to go
haha :)

You could enable WiFi activation and give him a WiFi only Blackberry so you
don't have recurring monthly charges and give him an older device or order a
non-service plan device.

Sounds like a lot of work over $44 / month. I'd just give him a BB and be onto
the next project....

Subject: [Bes-admins] Blackberry Device Emulators

I need some opinions on this:

We have an offshore support person who is assisting my group in supporting the
Blackberry devices. He does not yet have a Blackberry. We are trying to
determine if the Blackberry emulator would be sufficient for him vs. him having
a real device.

I prefer the real device route. We are trying to work around
carrier/procurement issues. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. I was
somewhat introduced to the emulators at a developers conference and it appeared
very buried in the development tools and not as standalone as Windows Mobile
emulators.

Thanks!
