My user is in Norfolk, VA and getting the same symptoms... searching, no signal, X, etc....

Verizon is having issues with their BlackBerry service since last Thursday. Seems that service is switching to 1X on a regular basis, BBM, data, and email service is inconsistently working. Per Verizon support, no add'l info available at this time.
