Is it really true that Blackberry devices, where they're on BES which runs on Windows Server 2008, could not open an MP3 file?! This is part of the release notes for KB22953:
BlackBerry Attachment Service In a Windows Server(r) 2008 environment, the BlackBerry(r) Attachment Service did not support .mp3 audio files on BlackBerry devices. In this environment, the BlackBerry Attachment Service did not support any audio file formats on BlackBerry(r) 7100 Series devices. (SDR 270220) When the BlackBerry(r) Enterprise Server runs on Windows Server 2008, users could not open .mp3 files on their devices. (DT 395150) Has anyone installed this yet?
