It's true, I figured it was at least partly because the OS can't play MP3 files by default. I believe that it can with the Desktop Experience feature installed. That installs Media Player I believe.

(SDR 270220) When the BlackBerry(r) Enterprise Server runs on Windows Server 2008, users could not open .mp3 files on their devices. (DT 395150) Has anyone installed this yet? I note it was released on the 16th May.
