Fixed by restarting the mail store service and waiting 20 minutes. Potential
problem avoided.

I just verified a hypenated one on mine is fine (5.0 SP3 MR4). Make sure that
it is indeed the primary SMTP address (BES will only work with the primary SMTP
address, not secondary ones). If the account was just created, maybe the
account hasn't replicated to all your servers, or maybe you need to force the
BES to refresh the company directory?

I don't have this issue in 5.0.1.58 and Exchange 2007
I verified it with a user whose first name is hyphenated and a user whose last
name is hyphenated and they both were found by the BES.

Subject: [Bes-admins] BES email limitation?

Is there a limitation on email addresses imposed by BES 5.0.3?

We have a user with the address,
firstname.last-n...@company.org<mailto:firstname.last-n...@company.org> Yes,
that is a hyphenated last name. BES can't find the account whether searching
Display name (full or just first), nor email address. Coming up fine in
Exchange 2007. Does BES choke on addresses like this? If so, and I create an
exchange smtp alias to overcome the limitation, will it work if it is not the
primary smtp?

Thanks.
