Hi all,

Playbooks.

Yes, we know there have been / are problems with RIM's service but we will be
sticking with them for the foreseeable future.

A couple of us attended the "Enterprising Minds" forum yesterday in London's
Excel Conference Centre and suddenly the light went on in my Line Managers
head. He finally understands what a Playbook can do. (Sheesh!).

He now understands that tethering the Playbook to a handset is a good thing for
security of data and not just a sign that the tablet's software is not ready
for release, so we are now looking to assess Playbooks for corporate release.

A virtual BPAS server will have to be built (it's free!) , firewall rules
changed and of course, IT policies drawn up and published, then of course the
procurement of some pilot devices and the games can commence.

I must admit I'm quite enthused by the idea as it may save us money previously
used for underutilised laptops and will increase my skillset and as we are
going through outsourcing consultations at the moment any extra strings to my
bow will be useful, but my question to you all is: Have any of you guys decided
to implement Playbooks on a corporate basis, and if so, have you spotted any
pitfalls?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Cheers
