RIM needs to learn their own software ;), a software config can be assigned to a user or a group. Below is taken out from the RIM KB05392
To assign the Software Configuration to a group. In the left-pane, under BlackBerry solution management, expand Group. Click Manage groups. Click on a group. Click on the Software Configuration tab. Click Edit User. Under Available software configurations, select the software configuration. Click Add. The software configuration should then appear under Current software configurations. Click Save all.
