This is interesting.
If you look up QQV on Yahoo they say it is not a valid symbol.
However, if you request data as Best Charts does with this url:
http://ichart.yahoo.com/table.csv?s=QQV&d=7&e=27&f=2004&g=d&a=0&b=25&c=2001&ignore=.csv
Yahoo downloads sloppy data to you. This is the data that Best Charts displays. Note the QQV in the url above.
Now, if you download data for ^QQV using:
http://ichart.yahoo.com/table.csv?s=^QQV&d=7&e=27&f=2004&g=d&a=0&b=25&c=2001&ignore=.csv
you get the correct data.
So, even though Yahoo says QQV is not a valid symbol, when asked to provide data for it, they do, it is just bad data.
Best Charts is meerly reacting as it should and displaying charts using the data Yahoo responds with. Another example of why you must pay close attention when using Yahoo as a data source.
