Sadly, everything will overwhelm a beginner.

The only really good resolution I know of involves being the kind of
person who will eagerly help beginners who allow help to be given to
them.

That said, there's other more specific resolutions for specific cases
(but they come in the form of offering what you can, as much as
anything else).
