A new J804 beta for OSX 10.6.8 32/64 bit (Snow Leopard) is now available
from http://www.jsoftware.com/download/j804/install. This is only available
as an all-in-one installer.

There are a few important points for this platform:

1. Do not use install'qtide' from jconsole to update the jqt files. J804
for Snow Leopard will only be available in the all-in-one format, and the
separate Qt IDE binaries on the Jsoftware web site are not compatible with
Snow Leopard.

2. Because jconsole is linked with libedit.3.dylib and this version is not
present in OSX 10.6.8, you will need to do the following before running
jconsole. Open a terminal window and enter:

 cd /usr/lib
 sudo ln -s libedit.2.dylib libedit.3.dylib

Now jconsole will run fine.

3. A few J804/jqt functions are not supported on Snow Leopard. These
include multimedia and qtquick.
