I followed the instructions above on our work cluster (Ubuntu 14.04) that
has a number of users (users of the cluster rather than J :( ). Now when I
start jconsole I get a list of lsof warnings before the session is
available (see below for a representative sample of the errors). On my
local WSL installation (Ubuntu 18.04) I don't get this behaviour. Does this
make any sense?
