I had same problem on an iMac running macOS Catalina (10.15.1). Fixed by right-clicking /Applications/j901/bin/jqt.command or else /Applications/j901/bin/libj.dylib (I don’t recall which one now) and choosing Open, then confirming on pop-up menu I wanted to open it.
I’ve had the same problem with beta, possibly even released j, in earlier versions. I tried to report it this time to this forum, but for reasons unknown my message never seems to have reached the mailing list. (I tried both [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> and [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>, and on the email account where I receive this digest). > On 16 Nov2019, at 7:00 AM, [email protected] wrote: > > or 9.01 beta: > from OSX terminal updateje.sh and updatejqt.sh did run without error > indication. > … but still nothing functioned. > > In my desperation I tried to run fix-sierra command on El Capitan, which > actually did something beneficiary. > Afterwards: > jcon.app was working. > jqt.app did flash a little turquoise J and disappeared without further error > msg. > > > Then returning to the beta-zip installations instructions with a functioning > J console, “installer 0” etc., > but that did not help either to run jqt.app, which shows same behaviour as > described above. —— Murray Eisenberg [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Professor Emeritus Mathematics & Statistics Dept.
